Moxabustion

Moxabustion

In addition to acupuncture, we often use moxabustion. Moxa is another name for the herb Artemesia Vulgaris, also known as mugwort, which grows in many areas throughout the world. It is used medicinally in virtually every area that it grows both as an internal and external tonic. It is used to warm regions and acupuncture points with the intention of increasing local circulation, easing pain, and stimulating the immune system.

Moxabustion has been shown to increase healthy white blood cells, red blood cells, and immune factors in an adaptogenic way making it particularly useful for treating cancers of all types.  It is also very effective in treating tuberculosis and other infections that have become resistant to antibiotics. Check out www.moxafrica.org to see how this powerful herbal medicine is being used in Africa to combat this deadly disease.
