L.Ac./Shiatsu

As a licensed massage therapist, I have trained extensively in traditional Japanese Shiatsu. One of the reasons I chose to specialize in Shiatsu over other styles of bodywork is the fact that its techniques are based in a broader understanding of both physical and energetic anatomy, established by the ancient traditions of East Asian Medicine. This offers the potential for a practitioner to engage, not only with the muscular & nervous system, but also the emotional & energetic bodies.

By stimulating and reorganizing the body’s muscular and energetic pathways, Shiatsu can improve overall organ function & health, correct neuromuscular & structural imbalances, promote emotional resilience, stimulate the immune system, balance hormones, and promote whole body wellness.

I first encountered Shiatsu while pursuing my doctorate in Classical Chinese Medicine. My seven years of graduate-level training in traditional healing arts has afforded me a comprehensive understanding of the body’s meridians, acupressure points, and the principles of circulation and transformation within the body. With a gentle, yet firm touch, I work with you to help foster harmony between the body, mind, and spirit. Regular Shiatsu sessions can help you recover from motor vehicle accidents, acute or chronic pain, auto-immune conditions, digestive issues, women’s health, and much, much more. Each session is tailored to meet your needs and personal health goals.

With compassion, I strive to create a safe and nurturing space for you to relax, release, and replenish yourself; alleviate pain, and restore optimal function.
